Lluïsa Vidal (1876-1918)
Lluïsa Vidal is a Catalan painter whose work consists of various techniques and styles she has studied throughout her life.
Lluïsa Vidal is Catalan Modernism’s sole professional female painter and a contemporary of Picasso and Casas. In 1901, she was one of the few women of her day to travel to Paris to study painting. She was a talented Barcelona artist, but Vidal struggled to make her mark in an era when it was unimaginable for women to hold professional positions.
