Wave goodbye to your FOMO, because you won’t miss a single thing on this epic 4-hr bicycle tour that visits every single one of Gaudi’s UNESCO-listed buildings in Barcelona… as well as must-see sights like Las Ramblas, Barceloneta beach, Parc de la Ciutadella, Arc de Triomf and Plaça Reial, the Gothic Quarter’s most iconic square.
Every Gaudi building is visually and culturally unique, and you’ll visit them ALL in the company of our expert guide, starting with the mind-blowing La Sagrada Familia. Each façade of this epic basilica explodes with symbolism, and our guide will help you understand the intriguing stories behind the architecture.
Equally impressive are Gaudi’s world-famous mansions on Passeig de Gracia. The Casa Mila is known as La Pedrera (The Quarry) thanks to its snaking grey exterior – it was built without a single straight line! While the coral-coloured Casa Batllo is a stunning standing tribute to Catalan mythology.
Nor will we overlook Casa Vicens, one of Gaudi’s early works, elaborated in the Modernista (Catalan art nouveau) style and found in the charming Gracia neighbourhood.
Meanwhile, the oft-neglected Palau Guell was the home of Eusebi Guell, Gaudi’s main benefactor and a crucial part of the architect’s story. We’ll visit both this palace and the nearby Gothic hospital of Santa Creu, where Gaudi tragically died. The peaceful courtyard of the hospital is one of Barcelona’s secret and serene corners, and the perfect place to reflect on the architect’s lasting legacy on the city.
It’s not all cycling and culture though… a little over half way through the tour we’ll take a break on a stunning local square in bohemian Gracia, where we can chill out with a drink and enjoy the bustling atmosphere.
While this itinerary offers the most complete look at Gaudi you can find in the city, we’ll also find time to enjoy so many more of the city’s other highlights (including parks, plazas and playas!), making this excursion the perfect choice for first-time visitors to Barcelona.
This tour can be done on a regular city bike, or on an electric bike (for €10 extra).
