Come and find out why Barcelona is considered one of Europe’s most beautiful and vibrant cities.
From Plaça Catalunya along Via Laietana the bus will take us to the Cathedral and its cloister in the historic Gothic Quarter. Following the traces of the foundations of the former Roman colony of Barcino, we will walk to Plaça Sant Jaume, which today is the city’s administrative centre with both the town hall and the regional government.
Our trip will continue towards modern Barcelona. Port Olímpic (the Olympic harbor) and Villa Olímpica (the athletes residential complex) have both been constructed for the Olympic Summer Games in 1992.
From here we will drive along the old port with its beautiful harbour promenade and ascend Montjuïc Mountain, the second centre of the Olympic Games, which offers astonishing panoramic views of the city, the ferry and cruise terminals and the industrial harbor.
We will take another short stroll through the Olympic Park with the Olympic Stadium, Palau Sant Jordi and the iconic Calatrava Tower.
Afterwards we will be welcomed to Poble Espanyol, the Spanish Village, which has been built for the 1929 World exhibition to show the cultural and architectural diversity of Spain. Here we will be seeing a selection of typical Spanish handicrafts and we will have the opportunity to taste a typical Catalan Cava, the renowned local sparkling wine.
Finally, we will take the scenic cable car for a relaxed way to the castle on the top of Montjuic. You can either extend your stay here or return with us back to the departure point in the city center.
